I want to buy a bike, but I don't know what I'm looking for. I know some of you have bikes, so can you give me your reccomendations? I obviously need something that's built for a heavier frame, but I don't want to go to a bike store and say "Hey, I'm fat, give me a bike whose tires I wont' flatten in 3 uses". Also, what should I expect to pay? I figure with gas currently at $4.09 in my town, buying a bike would pay for itself pretty quickly... Help!

I was wondering this my self. I have a bike but I can't find weight limit info on it or any bike for that matter. YIKES
The place to go in C-U for bike advise is Bikeworks. The guy who runs the place is called Bruce and he's a bit of a character, but he'll ask you where and how you want to ride, how much you want to spend, etc. and he'll match you up with the best bike for your needs. He does not have an agenda about which bikes he needs to move to make a profit; he couldn't care less about that. Be prepared: he does not run a bike store where everything looks like it should be in a magazine. It's a messy garage where everything is chaos, but the man knows what he's doing. He's in the phone book. Good luck!
