Fat Slob

Well, as predicted, while my Canadian friends were here, we ate like it was our last meal... every single time. It's certainly strange (and an indication of what kind of country we are in the US) that the thing that you show your foreign guests is the vast amount of food choices we have here. Literally every single meal was a meal out. They commented that there aren't near the places to eat out in Canada that there are here. Perhaps that's because we're a fat nation.

After 5 days of eating out, they said they felt miserable, tired, and FAT. And, so do I.

I "allowed" myself this week off-plan with the committment to renew my attendance at going to the gym. My plan tonight is to go home & change right after work and head to the gym for a bike ride. My MP3 player is dead, so I will have no music to accompany me, but I'm able to read a book on the bike. I can't read on any other machines though, so it works out.

I don't even want to know what that scale says after a week eating nothing but junk. I guarantee you it's at least a 5 pound gain, and probably 80% of that gain is simply because of the sodium in all the take out we got.

I need to get some groceries, my fridge is pretty much empty. I have some stuff for a few meals, but I'm such a snacker & need some healthy snacks. Maybe after the gym.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It's difficult when you have guests.

Hi Teale,
Glad to see you back and glad to hear that you had a great time with your friends. It's time to just get back on track and start making those healthy choices again. Don't worry about any weight gains or what the scale says, just hop back on the wagon and roll with it. :)

well I hope you enjoyed your time, but ask yourself if it was really worth it? if the answer was yes, then get on that scale and see what it says because to you that gain is worth it and you know it will go down with some on plan days and exercise. if it wasnt worth it, then ask yourself why you had to eat like that to have a fun time? Im sure you would have had a fun time regardless of the food that you ate, or at least in moderation. your determination is admireable and I think its great you are getting back to that gym even though Im sure its hard. hang in there!

shake off the dust and move on and if you hate what the scale says, then hold on to that thought next time you're tempted. Its a journey, a process and you have to live your life.

Please to not be calling yourself a fat slob!!! You're going to get back on track - and oh my gosh, riding a bike - you'll be saving money and exercising -what a deal.

I totally overeat when I am around friends - I get very caught up in the moment, and going out to eat feels like a special occaision all of a sudden. When it isn't - it's just food that I didn't cook. Good luck, dear!
