Looking Great in 2008--Week 2

Well, this past week presented some challenges, but I came out on top. As strange as it sounds, I love the feeling of guilt... let me elaborate. Guilt means I realize when I've done something wrong. If I can recognize my mistakes and pattern behavior, I'm more likely to succeed. So, even though I stayed within my points this past week, I felt guilty about my meal choices. I didn't eat the best food.

I had a birthday, which was the main source of the bad food. Meals out, cake, drinks at the bar.... you get the idea. I did plan ahead, however, and I made sure to work out to try to compensate for it. And compensate I did... the scale was down 2.2 more pounds this week! That makes my total 313.6 (and 14 pounds lost since 8/21, when I started WW).

Today I purchased an exercise ball, some resistance bands, some hand weights, and The Biggest Loser workout DVD. It's a couple years old... but workouts are workouts! I would feel more comfortable using bands/weights/ball at home than at the gym. I received a copy of Buff Brides for my bday, and I certainly would feel silly at the gym w/my book open to my exercises. So, I shall be moving the coffee table every so often so I can look at Bob's sexy abs whilst working my booty off (literally). Tonight I did a 30 minute workout, including warm up & cool down. I also bowled 3 games at the bowling alley. Good day for APs!

So, tomorrow will be a better day, food wise, and I'm hoping to reach 15 pounds lost by next week! I hope everyone has a great & successful week!

Wow! Congrats on the weight loss! That is GREAT!

And your birthday only comes once a year... so don't feel bad about eating the birthday food.

Sounds like you're planning to kick butt with the exercise! Keep up the good work, girl! You're going to be a "buff bride" before you know it! :)

you're doing a really good job. don't beat yourself up over "bad choices" on you birthday. you shouldn't look at them as bad choices anyway, but rather as good choices because think of all the junk you could have had that day. going out to eat, especially more than once in one day, is always hard if you're dieting. you made smart meal choices. and see, you lost 2.2 lbs anyway :)

You're doing GREAT! 2.2 lbs loss is a really good one -- not too much and not so little that it gets discouraging. And yay for all the exercising! Especially the hand weights. I'm a big believer in weight-lifting, as I blogged about in my weekly challenge post.

Keep up the good work!

Exercise is the one thing I struggle to commit too but it sounds like you are rockin' there. And really I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "bad choice" in terms of actual foods - because this is a for life change (or has to be if we want this to stick) just in terms of portions.

Congrats on your loss!! You are doing an awesome job. We all make bad choices at times but as you said it is about recognizing when we have made them. Keep up the hard work and you will win in the end. Stop by my blog when you get a chance!

Brilliant loss well done!
You've motivated me to do something with those handweights I bought a while back, which so far I have just looked at...
