Another year older

Yesterday was my birthday. It turned out to be a fun-filled day, and I didn't do too bad food-wise. I saved up my flex points to use, plus I had all of my daily points. I had just a light breakfast (granola bar & light string cheese), then lunch was at the Olive Garden. That's not exactly a good place to eat healthy... but I didn't do so bad. I only ate 1 1/2 breadsticks, instead of the 3 or so I used to eat. I ordered soup/salad for my meal, but didn't even eat much of that b/c we had an appetizer. I did splurge on the appetizer, but I counted points generously, to make sure I wasn't eating more than I had points for. My parents brought me a cake, and Mike & I shared a small piece.

Later that day, I went out and had a few drinks w/family. Those were unexpected points b/c I hadn't planned on a bar trip for my bday. But, I budgeted my points, and that was that. I also had a junior size chocolate shake that was unexpected, but again, I budgeted for it.

Dinner was pretty good. A friend and I went to Flat Top Grill, which is a create your own stir-fry place. I *love* it. I had tons of veggies, some noodles, and chicken. It was delicious! Then my friend came home w/me for a little while & we had cake.

I stepped on the scale this morning to see if yesterday stuck to me too much, and I was still showing that I was down a couple pounds from Tuesday's WI. I don't "count" these middle of the week weigh-ins, but I like to check just to see how I'm doing. I didn't get to the gym at all this weekend, which I'm a little bummed about, but I'll just have to get there tomorrow!

I hope everyone else had a good, HEALTHY weekend!

Glad to hear that you were able to enjoy yourself out and still eat healthy. I hate food surprises! I hate when you plan and then something comes up that messes up your plan. Glad that you managed your unexpected drinks well. mmmm cake!

i know my comments probably don't mean much to you at the time being. but i do think it's great that you are doing things the right way and still losing weight. i really wish that my brain would let me function that way, but it doesn't. i've tried and tried during recovery and it just doesn't fix. anyway. congratulations on all the hard work
