Does this happen to anyone else?

When I exercise, my feet feel like they are cramping up & they kind of start to burn. Even after I take my shoes off when I'm done, they feel achy/crampy. I am flat-footed, so maybe that has something to do with it? I *just* went to a nice shoe place & got fitted for work-out shoes, so I know it's not the shoes that are my problem...

I usually keep going when it happens, but man does it hurt!

Teale, I have flat feet also and the same thing happens to me. That's why I stick to the elliptical machine, it seems to hurt less. I love your blog! I've struggled a lot with weight loss myself and I am trying to eat healthy again. Thanks for sharing.

I am suffering from the same thing. Got flat feet too, go figure. I don't really know what to do about it, but I do what you do: I just keep on walking. A massage helps me tremendously, though...Hubby's nice enough to do that kind of thing for me. ;)

I don't have flat feet but I do have the problem when in the elliptical/crosstraining machine that my feet get extremely hot and fall asleep. My trainer told me to losen up my shoes before I get on and pick up my feet occasionally to get the blood flow back into them. I now untie my shoes totally and it helps stave off the burning for at least 20 minutes. Your feet swell when you start to exercise so that's why this happens.

Then I pick my feet up and/or go backwards when they're falling asleep and it helps tremendously. When you're on a machine like that you are putting pressure on the same place in your foot all the time, causing the aches, hotness and numbness. Pick them puppies up and you'll start to notice a difference!

I have flat feet too and if I don't wear my shoe inserts my feet will hurt really bad...much like the way you described. They can be pricey and you will want to get some that fit your athletic shoes welll....but that being said, they make a BIG difference.

Good luck!

I was having this problem too. If I wear bad shoes (like my fav, flip flops) or I exercise alot, I almost fall over when I get out of bed in the morning the pain is so bad.

I asked the doctor and she thought I might have Plantar Fasciitis (I know it sounds disgusting, eh?!)
